What Your Baby is Doing This Week
More rapid growth this week. Your baby's brain is developing and this week, those dainty little fingernails and toenails start to form. Vocal cords will start to form this week as well.
Another milestone this week, your baby's kidneys are functioning. Your baby will swallow amniotic fluid and pass it on his own as urine. The intestines will begin their descent into baby's abdomen as more and more room is made for them.
What Your Body is Doing This Week
You made it, this is the final week of your first trimester. Many women start to have that "pregnant glow" this week. It's not just happiness, it's actually increased blood volume and the hormones of pregnancy working hand in hand to make your skin look absolutely radiant. Sometimes the hormone rush will cause temporary acne in some women but for most, they will enjoy some of the best skin they've had in years.
