What Your Baby is Doing This Week

Your baby is really growing now. At about 5.1 inches (13 cm) and weighing in at around 4.9 ounces (140 grams), your baby is still very tiny but getting bigger with every week that passes.

The placenta continues to grow to accommodate the needs of your growing baby. It now contains thousands of blood vessels that bring nutrients and oxygen from your body to your developing baby.

What Your Body is Doing This Week

This is the week you may notice your breasts have increased in size. Hormones are beginning to prepare your breasts for milk production. More blood is flowing to the breasts and the glands that produce milk are growing in preparation for breast feeding. It's not uncommon to gain one or even two cup sizes during this time. Investing in a support bra at this time is a great idea and will help support your breasts during this time.
