What Your Baby is Doing This Week
During development over the past several weeks, your baby's eyes have been sealed shut. However they will soon open and baby will begin practicing blinking. Eyelashes are also growing in and your baby is probably producing more hair on her head too. At this point your baby should weight a little less than 2 pounds (907 grams), and is continuing to gain weight and fill out that wrinkly skin.
What Your Body is Doing This Week
Start thinking about baby proofing your home. Cover electrical outlets with baby proof plug covers so a drooly finger doesn't result in a nasty shock. Also, think of choking hazards. Another way what you need to address in a room, is to get down to your baby's level and look around. You may be amazed at the things you need to do to make a room baby proof. Does your home have smoke alarms? It's time to invest in a few if you haven't already. Test monthly once you install them. If you have stairs, invest in a baby gate to block off stairs and remember, no amount of baby proofing will replace careful supervision of your baby.
