What Your Baby is Doing This Week
Another milestone, this week your baby is technically considered full term. But your baby still has some growing to do and most babies will add fat to their bodies at the rate of around half an ounce (14 grams) per day.
Your baby will be practicing grasping this week and if a bright light is shone at your uterus, the baby will turn towards it in curiosity.
What Your Body is Doing This Week
From this week forward, it's not unusual for a mommy-to-be to lose the mucous plug that has sealed off your uterus all this time. It doesn't mean labor is imminent however; the plug may be lost hours, days or even weeks before it is time for baby to make his appearance. It is thick, yellowish and sometimes tinged with blood (hence the name "bloody show"). Make sure your health care provider knows when you lose your plug as you may need to be checked for signs of labor.
